Plastering Done!!!

My front loader washing machine and the matching dryer....limited edition combo. Ferrari Red Formula 1 edition...LOVE IT!!!!!
dining / family
we put the cold water point in the pantry so the fridge doesn't stick out too much as the fridge space doesn't accommodate very well for some double door and french door fridges as it is.... we are going to cut into the wall and feed a pipe through
study nook and theatre. We inverted the theatre wall so we could include the study in the lounge not in the theatre

niche in master bathroom. we reconfigured the master bathroom so that on the 1200mm side the shower rose will hang and we put a niche in the 900mm side. we left the opening in the master bathroom instead of changing it to a door.
Hallway looking to back of house
we flipped laundry configuration to have internal access door through laundry. also changed the double cupboard to a single so we could fit the front loader and dryer comfortably under the bench

Progress to Date - NOW AT LOCK UP!!!

YAY!!!

We're at lock up and the insulation has nearly been completed. Brickwork has been cleaned and it looks
good...can't wait until plastering starts...hopefully all will be completed by early august...

We're nearly at lock up and we're really excited. Apart from the mistakes and constant inconsistencies that
we have had with our CSR rep at places, everything is going as planned. Windows are in, roof is on and the brickwork is nearly completed.

We have constantly had to double check EVERYTHING that is going in our house making
su
re that all our stuff is where it should be.

Anyway, here is a few photos of where we are at. No major changes made to the layout of the Glendale.

Gravel was laid before the boxing for the slab...was done reasonably fast considering titles were only 2 weeks prior

Slab was poured couple days later and to our dismay, we noticed that our CS
R had not passed on the CORRECT Final Working Drawings to our site supervisor. The plumbing configuration to the laundry was incorrect, so
they had to cut into the slab to rectify their mistake...

this is of the kitchen, hallway etc. fr
ame went up in 2 days...was so so exciting

brick work was held up because
our incompetent and useless CSR forgot to order our wooden windows....instead
, we were sent aluminium windows.....at this point, after 6 weeks of construction, our FINAL working drawings had still not been sent t
o us for signing....how the hell were the builders able to go ahead with construction? beats me! our Site Supervisor was really good - he was really helpful when we spoke to him....

The electrician went through, with a completely different set of working drawings to the ones we had finally signed and missed 7 extra powerpoints, wired our home
theatre completely different to what was stated on our electricals...what next???

We have 3 of these to hang over the island bench and the other light is the feature for our dining except it is a 10 light not 6, so is m
uch much longer and a lot brighter

Apart from the build we have been shopping like crazy...as soon as we walked into the display home, we knew what we wanted...we have gone for
a dark and luxurious hotel feeling colour theme...dark high gloss porcelain tiles in the main areas, chocolate carpets in the rest, off white walls, brilliant white skirtings and archtitraves etc, and w
ooden windows...we have chosen the lunar stonetop bench for our island and a woodgrain laminex for the other the light at the top is the island bench lights...if you have been to the display in Tarneit, we opted for the exact same kitchen cupboards as displayed...no kitchen handles on the top overhead cupboards....we weren't told that they were custom designed when we went to signing so we were given them for free as building had already started....we have opted for the surround sound set up and have had the house wired...the theatre is 7.1 and we have wired our room for 5.1 as well...we have sound proofing for the theatre and internal insulation as well as extra external insulation...the electricals have been wired in such a way that when construction has finished, we are able to mount the televisions on the wall and have them connected to everything (surround sound,
blu ray
player etc) without wires showing or have them running down the walls...we had power points added in the overhead cupboards to accommodate for downlights under the cupboards to shine down on the bench...we have purchased our lights and everything...from spotlights in the bathrooms and WIR to crystal chandeliers in the formal lounge to hanging crystal feature lights in the kitchen and dining room (pictured above)...we have custom made lounge suites for the family that are 2.7m long...we have purchased our formal lounge from Harvey Norman and theatre suites from bay leather republic...we are still looking for a kitchen table, coffee table, buffet table and the like....we recently purchased our bed...Rimu wood from New Zealand...they are usually sold in Snooze...awesome price we got it for as well...we have our surround sound which we purchased from a HiFi store in Sydney, which is a useful place if you would like to upgrade or purchase quality gear for less than cost...Eastwood HiFi in Sydney...we got an awesome surround sound package for less than $2500. 7.1 surround sound and quality...usual retail including the subwoofer $5000 - $6000. Should definitely check it out...
